21 years later, remembering Hurricane Isabel’s fury felt in the Mid-Atlantic

WASHINGTON (7News) – On Thursday, September 18, 2003, Hurricane Isabel made landfall near Drum Inlet, North Carolina as a Category 2 storm with winds near 100 mph. The storm traveled inland and continued to bring hurricane conditions into eastern North Carolina and southeastern Virginia. Tropical storm conditions were felt as far inland as upstate New York.
