The Old Sheldon Church, located in Beaufort County, South Carolina, was built in the mid-1700s. Despite its age, it has stood the test of time and still remains today. This historical landmark has a rich history dating back to the American Revolutionary War. Originally known as Prince William’s Parish Church, it was constructed in 1753 and was designed in the English Georgian style. It has been speculated that it may have been the first attempt in the country to mimic the architectural style of a Greek temple.
