A possible Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) violation occurred outside Madison Town Hall on Thursday night when Town Attorney Maynard Sipe informed members of the media that council opted not to accept Administrator Cheryl Yowell’s resignation.
Yowell verbally informed council during another closed meeting on September 3, that she was resigning effective September 25. She then went on vacation for a week before returning to her job.
The refusal means Yowell will have two fulltime jobs in two localities – at least for the time being…
