Man wanted on New York murder charge arrested in Rhode Island

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A North Providence man wanted on a first-degree murder charge in New York has been arrested, according to Rhode Island State Police.

Troopers apprehended Antonio Jimenez, 46, in Rhode Island around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, with assistance from the FBI and the New York Police Department.

Police said Jimenez has been charged as a fugitive from justice, following an investigation by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Court records show Jimenez was arraigned and ordered held without bail. He is due back in court July 22 for a fugitive hearing…
