STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The New York City Parks Department’s recent use of a controversial herbicide shows the changing nature of weed killer use around the country.

An Advance/SILive.com reader shared a recent posting at Clove Lakes Park showing the city’s plan for a June 3 spraying at the park to kill poison ivy and other invasive species.
