STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Family and friends celebrated 355 Staten Island Technical High School graduates Tuesday morning at the College of Staten Island in Willowbrook during the school’s 2026 commencement ceremony.
Principal Mark Erlenwein welcomed the class of 2026 and congratulated the extraordinary students of the class of 2026, along with parents, guardians, caretakers, family, and friends who were here today, both in person and watching the live stream.
After a light show of colors representing life’s paths, he reminded the class that, “So, class of 2026, your life will not be one color. You will be bright with a possibility, red with challenge. It’ll be blue of reflection, green with growth. And if you remember anything from this journey, remember, do not chase a perfect life. Chase a meaningful one. Do not become so efficient that you forget to be human. Do not fear the mistake, the detour, the reboot, or the stumble. Because sometimes the thing that looks like the glitch is actually the beginning of the gift.”…
