Ahead of the triple-digit day in New York City, the energy company pleaded with New Yorkers to keep energy use to a minimum, including limiting air conditioner usage.

Thursday morning, ConEd dropped voltage by 8% in northern Manhattan and the northwest part of the Bronx. According to the company, it’s done to “help keep power flowing reliably.”
