STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A city Department of Health study published Friday showed little impact on air quality, but traffic upticks on two of Staten Island’s highways.
The Staten Island Expressway and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Expressway – NY 440 saw 5% and 4% upticks, respectively, in average daily traffic in 2025 compared to 2024, according to a methodology appendix from the report.
