STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Once considered nothing more than an imposing haunted house looming on a South Shore hill, the Kreischer Mansion is ruffling off the dust and embracing its historic roots.
Entrepreneurs Eric Bischoff and Julia Mackie purchased the deteriorating Queen Anne-styled mansion in Charleston with the dream of making the home into a lavish event venue and educational space after it spent years as a Halloween attraction.
Bischoff said he anticipates the mansion welcoming Staten Island into its inviting halls sometime in September. He is inviting brides and others to start booking the property for their upcoming big day…
