Korean War ‘Veteran Hall of Fame’ honoree, revered for his leadership on and off the battlefield, dies at 95

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — George E. Parsons, a decorated Korean War veteran and steadfast community pillar who was also a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, died April 13. He was 95.

Mr. Parsons, who was revered for his service to both country and community, leaves behind a legacy defined by courage, integrity and deep family ties, said those who knew him best.

A beloved local leader, he was known for his unwavering dedication both on the battlefield and in his hometown and was praised by Staten Island elected officials for his heroism.
