(KRON) — A woman who disappeared into the Delta after going swimming near the Antioch Marina last week has been found dead. The woman went into the water with another woman on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
After entering the water, the women were caught in a strong current, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said. One woman was safely pulled out of the water. A search effort was launched for the other woman with air and water units responding.

The second woman, who the Antioch Police Department identified as 46-year-old Edgielyn Torrente, was found deceased in the San Joaquin River on Sunday. Initial reports had her age incorrectly stated as 54.
Her family has been notified, according to police.
