Syracuse to raise flag for Gun Violence Awareness Month amid recent shootings

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The City of Syracuse will mark Gun Violence Awareness Month on Tuesday with a flag-raising ceremony outside of City Hall, led by Mayor Sharon F. Owens.

Lateef Johnson-Kinsey, director of the Mayor’s Office to Reduce Gun Violence, Police Chief Mark Rustin, and Onondaga County District Attorney William J. Fitzpatrick are among those expected to attend. Representatives from Moms Demand Action and Mothers Against Gun Violence will also be present.
