After thefts, Mattydale community rallies together for students’ Bike Day

MATTYDALE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Bicycles for students at Roxboro Road Elementary School were stolen and damaged this week in Mattydale, but community members stepped in with donations.

The outpouring of support ensures that the school’s Bike Day can proceed as scheduled for Thursday, June 4.

The community project, designed to encourage kids to be active and give bikes to those who need them, faced an unexpected setback when some of the bikes, stored in a secure courtyard, were vandalized and stolen.
