GENEVA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Marcellus boys lacrosse team’s bid for a state championship fell just short Sunday, as the Mustangs lost to Cold Spring Harbor in the Class D state title game.
Marcellus appeared poised to break through when it grabbed an 8-7 lead midway through the fourth quarter. However, Cold Spring Harbor responded with four unanswered goals down the stretch to regain control and pull away for the victory.
The championship matchup marked the third meeting between the two programs in the last four years with a state title on the line. Cold Spring Harbor has now won all three of those championship-game matchups…
