Syracuse Police raise alarm over ‘community guns’ after fatal teen shooting

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A deadly shooting involving two teenagers is raising new questions in Syracuse about how young people are getting access to guns — and how many of those weapons may be circulating for years in neighborhoods as so-called “community guns.”

Syracuse police say juveniles are not buying guns legally from stores.
