Syracuse offers free roller skating to help community heal after tragic shooting

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — As the Syracuse Police Department continues to investigate a shooting that left a 16-year-old dead and a 13-year-old fighting for his life, city leaders are hoping to give the community a chance to begin healing.

The tragedy unfolded on Wednesday inside a home on Lincoln Avenue. Syracuse Police say just after 9 p.m., officers rushed to the home where they found a 16-year-old dead. The 13-year-old was also shot. Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick said the 16-year-old accidentally shot the 13-year-old before turning the gun on himself.
