DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Camillus woman died Monday night when she lost control of her motorcycle on I-481 in DeWitt, only for an oncoming vehicle to hit her.
According to a statement from the DeWitt Police Department, at around 9:45 p.m., officers were called out to the I-481 north and the I-690 interchange following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle.
Police found 34-year-old Jacyln Rittershaus, the motorcycle’s driver, dead when they arrived at the scene. Officers determined that Rittershaus was driving northbound on I-481 when she lost control of her motorcycle and was subsequently thrown off the bike.
An oncoming vehicle then struck Rittershaus, said the statement. Following the crash, portions of the I-690 and the I-481 northbound stayed closed through 3:20 a.m. as DeWitt and Manlius police departments investigated the scene…
