CICERO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Onondaga is just one of several counties across New York State that will be impacted by FedEx’s international layoffs and closures in the wake of their execution of Network 2.0, their recent optimization plan.
A Cicero FedEx, located at 6313 Running Ridge Road, will close at the beginning of August. A WARN notice from the state Department of Labor posted that 22 people will lose their jobs.
The plan? FedEx wants to combine its Express and Ground efforts in the U.S. and Canada and simplify them. A transcript from their Investor Day in February shows that they do not want both trucks in the same neighborhood on the same day, and they don’t want to see their express and ground packages on two different pickups…
