Central New Yorkers are digging for details on the status of three new Byrne Dairy locations. With work happening in Weedsport, Camillus and Fulton, it’s hard to keep track of when we can expect the green roofs to be raised and doors to be opened.
The Weedsport community won’t be waiting much longer. The store will be opening next Wednesday, July 29, at 6 a.m.
This opening comes fewer than six months after the controversial demolition of the former Shurfine, Weedsport’s only grocery store.
Some neighbors were hoping another grocery store would replace Shurfine, but no supermarkets expressed interest.
Christian Brunelle, an executive with Byrne Dairy, said that Byrne Dairy offers a larger selection of groceries than other convenience stores, and the company has a history of replacing small-town grocery stores that recently closed…
