SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — There’s nothing like a little comfort food, and Kevin Metzger is ready for some home cooking.
The guitarist is heading home from Austin, Texas, for a special Saturday night gig at Funk ‘n Waffles downtown. He’s promoting a live album with his musical partner R. Aaron Walters, another Syracuse native who records music out of the Lone Star State.
“Live New Worlds,” the follow-up to Metzger’s debut “Many Worlds,” officially releases on Oct. 9. But at the Funk ‘n Waffles show, you can get a CD months in advance.
“The fact that I can play here and I can get a savory waffle that’s made with Thanksgiving stuffing or is made out of falafel…it’s one of the reasons that keeps me coming back and playing,” Metzger said from a table at one of his favorite venues…
