SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Two Onondaga County women say they spent days trying to get answers about their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, only to be met with phone wait times stretching for hours. But after NewsChannel 9 contacted the county about the issue on Wednesday, August 12, those wait times dropped dramatically.
Rayne Dabney of East Syracuse said she started calling the Onondaga County Department of Social Services two weeks ago. She said she got an automated message, followed by a wait time she says was anything but realistic.
