Syracuse’s Northside gets $2M boost for renovations through Onondaga County program

NORTH SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Nineteen small businesses on Syracuse’s Northside are getting help paying for improvements to their properties through a $2 million investment announced Tuesday by Onondaga County’s Main Street Program, which uses matching grants to help property and business owners pay for renovations.

Under the county-wide program, businesses cover 25% of eligible project costs and the county covers the remaining 75%.

“As these corridors strengthen, the neighbors on them will strengthen and that’s where a lot of the housing resources everyone is focused on will compliment this,” said County Executive Ryan McMahon…
