Syracuse, N.Y. — After a months-long saga that divided a town and dethroned one of its most iconic figures, Fayetteville-Manlius has a new cross country coach.
Ken Hammond, 41, a business and marketing teacher at F-M and a longtime endurance athlete, met with his Hornets team for the first time this week as its new head coach.
He replaces Bill Aris, who spent 33 years turning F-M into a dynasty — and turning himself into possibly the greatest high school cross country coach ever — before being removed following a district investigation into his coaching methods…
