Geddes, N.Y. — Better marked lines, clearer signs and more staff have been added to the New York State Fair’s bus pickup area after Saturday’s massive crowd led to long delays and a free-for-all among people trying to leave.
The changes are intended to better organize fairgoers waiting for buses to Destiny USA and Long Branch Park, said Katie Rey, associate director of public information for the New York State Fair.
Fair officials are also exploring whether to hire a coach bus service to provide more transportation during the remaining days of the fair, particularly when large crowds are expected, she said…
