ONONDAGA, N.Y. (WSYR) — Two first responders were brought to a hospital on Monday after the ambulance they were in crashed while en route to a different accident.
Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tom Newton said in a statement that at about 2:10 p.m. Aug. 31, emergency personnel were called out to a single-vehicle crash on State Route 11A, near Gibson Road, in the Onondaga Nation. A car with five men lost control and crashed. Four of them were taken to area hospitals and are currently listed as being in stable condition.
While on their way to that crash, a TLC Emergency Medical Services ambulance also lost control and crashed on Seneca Turnpike in the town of Onondaga. The two male TLC employees in the ambulance were taken to a local hospital and are both in stable condition, Newton said.
The sheriff’s office is investigating both accidents. Newton said updates will be given as more information becomes available…
