SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Lane closures are planned along Interstate 81 southbound and Interstate 690 eastbound in Syracuse.
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) said in a statement that I-690 eastbound will be reduced to one lane between the I-81 northbound on-ramp and Exit 17 (Teall Avenue) in Syracuse, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, for bridge work as part of the Interstate 81 Viaduct Project.
The road work isn’t stopping there, as the NYSDOT also noted that I-81 southbound will be down to lane between Exit 5B-5A-4B (Hiawatha Boulevard/Destiny USA/Bear Street) and Exit 20 (Franklin Street/West Street) in the city from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., weeknights, starting Tuesday night, Sept. 8, through Saturday morning, Sept. 12, and from Monday night, Sept. 14, through Saturday morning, Sept. 19.
