Syracuse Police: Man allegedly stabbed woman in front of several children

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse Police officers were called to a home on the 1800 block of E. Fayette Street just before 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 18.

At the scene, officers found a 30-year-old woman who had been stabbed in the shoulder. She was taken to Upstate Hospital and is expected to survive.

As for the suspect, 37-year-old Bryan Washington, police say he fled the scene but was found just shortly after.

According to Syracuse Police, an investigation showed that the stabbing happened during a domestic dispute. However, it is alleged that it took place in front of several children who were in the home. They were not hurt.

Washington was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault in the Second Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Criminal Contempt in the First Degree
