Syracuse, N.Y. – The developer of a 309-unit apartment complex in Manlius is asking for its property tax bill to be cut in half over the next decade.
In exchange, the affiliate of Hueber-Breuer Construction Co. would create seven permanent jobs and set aside 31 of the new apartments — 10% of the total — to rent at below-market rates at the new Twin Ponds complex.
Specifically, those 31 apartments would be “workforce” units, homes meant to provide a slight discount for middle-wage earners. A three-person household earning nearly $112,000 could qualify for a three-bedroom apartment renting for $2,111 a month…
