NY AG Letitia James reaches settlement with Syracuse landlords over lead hazards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — New York State Attorney General Letitia James has secured a settlement with Syracuse landlords after an investigation found dangerous lead hazards in their rental properties.

The attorney general’s office determined that Brian A. Murphy and Harry Murphy repeatedly failed to address deteriorating lead-based paint and did not consistently provide legally required disclosures to tenants at nearly two dozen properties, according to James.
