Syracuse, N.Y. – Saying they had been backed into a corner, leaders from Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo made a public plea Tuesday for an end to what they called bullying behavior by Onondaga County that threatens to “cripple” the nonprofit.
Two leaders of the Friends group met with county legislators Tuesday afternoon, as their executive committee watched from the gallery. They proclaimed a desire to heal a year-long rift with the county executive’s office that has left the nonprofit in financial limbo.
