Former director of CNY nonprofit accused of stealing $79K from organization

FONDA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A woman is facing a felony charge after allegedly taking over $79,000 from a nonprofit she used to run, the state comptroller’s office said.

Nicole S. Weigel, 44, of Fonda, the former executive director of Girls on the Run Central New York, has been charged with second-degree grand larceny, New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and New York State Police Superintendent Steven James announced in a statement on Wednesday, May 6.
