Syracuse, N.Y. ― Two men accused of planting an explosive in a cupcake vending machine in Syracuse tried and failed to get to the machine two times before they succeeded in blowing it up, prosecutors said in court papers.
The men tried on two consecutive days to enter the office building where the vending machine was housed but they couldn’t get in, according to an indictment filed in court. On the third day, one of the men got in, the indictment alleges.
Around 1:42 p.m. on April 10, a man was caught on video entering the building at 404 Oak St. and dropping an object into a pink Cupcakes R Me vending machine in the lobby that exploded moments later. The man can be seen rushing out just before the explosion…
