A Syracuse tech business teaching animals to avoid danger wins Genius NY prize

Syracuse, N.Y. — The idea of “talking” to animals once lived somewhere between folklore and fantasy. On Thursday night in downtown Syracuse, it earned a $1 million prize.

Flox Intelligence, a company using artificial intelligence to understand and respond to animal communication, won the top award in the ninth round of the state-backed GENIUS NY competition.
