Centro cuts ribbon on upgraded natural gas fueling station

Centro cut the ribbon on its updated compressed natural gas fueling station in Syracuse on Wednesday. The new system will replace decades-old equipment with modern technology to help improve performance for the 132 buses on the Centro fleet and reduce the risk of equipment problems in the foreseeable future.

It is a major upgrade for Syracuse’s transit system that is relied on by thousands of Central New Yorkers. The project involves a $7.6 million overhaul using money from the state and federal government.

Laino, Centro’s Chairman of the Board. “Projects like this help ensure that Centro can continue providing safe, reliable and forward looking service for the communities that depend on us everyday.”…
