Syracuse police arrest suspect after downtown stabbing leaves man injured

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A man was stabbed early Sunday in downtown Syracuse, and police say they arrested a suspect after a brief foot chase.

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department responded at about 3:22 a.m. Sunday, May 17, 2026, to the 100 block of Walton Street for a report of a stabbing. Police found a 33-year-old man with an apparent stab wound to the hip area.
