Syracuse police investigate early-morning crash that knocked out power near Court Street

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A car crashed into a light pole early Sunday at a busy Syracuse intersection, temporarily knocking out power to nearby homes as police searched for the driver.

Officers with the Syracuse Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision at about 4:14 a.m. Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the intersection of Court Street and First North Street.
