Seattle Police say they prevented a potential mass shooting targeting the University of Washington Tacoma campus after investigators detained a student who allegedly sent a photograph of a shotgun engraved with the phrase “ELLIOT RODGER WAS RIGHT” and was reportedly expected to be on campus during final exams.
According to Seattle Police, officers received a crisis complaint on May 26 after a UW Tacoma student allegedly sent a Discord message containing a photograph of a shotgun and references that alarmed a former classmate. Investigators said the reporting party described the student as increasingly erratic, radicalized, and fixated on violent extremist beliefs.
