From parades to pie, here’s where to celebrate the 4th of July around Pierce Co.

America’s birthday is nearly here, and nearly every community in Pierce County is going all out to celebrate, whether that be on July 3 or July 4. That might be because this year marks the 250th anniversary of the USA.

Whether you’re looking for a parade, a pie-eating contest or a good old-fashioned fireworks show, there’s something for you.

Tacoma Summer Blast

  • July 4, noon to 10:30 p.m.
  • Ruston Way and Dune Peninsula, 5361 Yacht Club Road, Tacoma

Parks Tacoma will host the annual Fourth of July celebration on the waterfront with vendors, food, live music and of course, fireworks. Expect over 150 vendors across Dune Peninsula and Cummings Park, selling everything from ice cream to artisan goods, plus live music performances at Dune Peninsula throughout the day. The fireworks show will start around 10 p.m., and can be seen from Dune Peninsula, Ruston Way and Jack Hyde Park, according to Parks Tacoma.

Fireworks Extravaganza at Cheney Stadium

  • July 3 and 4, 7:05 to 10:05 p.m.
  • Cheney Stadium, 2502 S. Tyler St., Tacoma

The Rainiers are going all in for the Fourth of July, hosting Fireworks shows for two nights. This is the first time in 30 years that the Rainiers have played Independence Day baseball at Cheney Stadium, according to Rainiers website. The team will face the Reno Aces both nights.
