Tiny North End park to temporarily close for $160K upgrade, Parks Tacoma says

A park in North Tacoma less than a quarter of an acre in size will close to the public until the fall while crews work to replace play equipment.

The North Slope Historic Park at the corner of North 8th and North K Streets soon will be home to an updated climbing structure, slides and covered swings. The project resulted from community input on what the park should look like.

The project will cost Parks Tacoma $160,000, according to a news release from the agency. The cost will be covered by a bond measure that voters approved in 2014…
