Police investigating after explosion damages Tacoma business

Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly tried to blow up a Tacoma business Monday evening.

The incident happened at about 6:09 p.m., according to a news release from Officer Shelbie Boyd, spokesperson for the Tacoma Police Department. Someone approached Bad Boys Bail Bonds in the 4800 block of Pacific Avenue while three employees were inside.

They placed an explosive device near the front entrance, lit it, and walked away, the release said. About 30 seconds later, the device exploded, which caused “significant damage to the front door and surrounding glass.”…
