SEATTLE — Animal control officers in Pierce County rescued a dog and two reptiles from a home after a complaint that animals had been abandoned by former renters, Pierce County Sheriff officials said.
On April 12, a homeowner reported that previous tenants had left animals behind when they vacated the property. The report indicated a dog had been left in a bedroom along with several reptiles in aquariums, some of which appeared to be dead.
Officers obtained a warrant to enter the residence and recover any surviving animals. Upon entry, they found the home in what officials described as deplorable condition.
