The Tacoma Police Department evacuated a store on Tuesday after an employee found a hand grenade.
Officer Shelbie Boyd, spokesperson for TPD, told The News Tribune in an email Wednesday morning that officers responded to a call at the Goodwill at 5401 6th Ave. at 1:06 p.m. after the employee found the grenade.
“[It] was left at the location by an unknown person in a donation sorting bin,” Boyd wrote. “Tacoma Police {Explosive Ordinance Disposal] team responded and were directed to where the grenade had been found. The business was evacuated for safety reasons.”…
