LCSO serves meals for nurses going without pay at county jail

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is dishing out some free meals to help nurses struggling with bills.

Last week, a group of prison nurses at the Leon County Jail said they have not been paid by their company, YesCare, sparking staff shortages and worry as employees scramble to make ends meet.

LCSO Sheriff Walt McNeil said YesCare filed for bankruptcy, sparking a search for a new nurse provider. The sheriff’s office said a majority of the YesCare staff at the jail stayed despite going without pay…
