Tallahassee woman’s dream business in limbo amid lease woes

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Just when a hobby evolved into a lifelong dream, a Tallahassee businesswoman claims the rug was pulled out from under her.

Latasha Reed, owner of Tootie’s Cafe & Catering, who also goes by Tootie, began running her catering company in 2023 to support the community and provide for her sons, who recently graduated. Before long, her aspirations grew and she promised herself that she would own a storefront in 2026.

“It started out as a hobby, you know, just trying to hustle and make some money to help support my boys through everything, whether it was football, whether it was any activities that they had going on. Then it became like a dream,” Reed said…
