Florida State football’s 2027 recruiting class started with good news on Sunday morning, as four-star safety/linebacker Jernard Albright flipped his commitment from South Carolina to Florida State. This was a big step in the right direction for the 2027 class, but the work still has to be done, and as we all know, the games for the 2026 season still have to be played.
Head coach Shane Beamer had quite the morning. Ironically, I have the cover photo of his father (Frank Beamer) with current Virginia Tech coach James Franklin, which was totally not intentional. However, the younger Beamer has had his fair share of struggles while at South Carolina.
Let’s not forget that Florida State head coach Mike Norvell has plenty to work on as well. However, it was encouraging that the Seminoles are capable of bringing talented recruits into the fold. With that said, high school recruiting is ever-changing and should never be viewed as a guarantee.
