Tallahassee man indicted for firearm possession as a convicted felon

TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Jarvis Wayne Myers, a 40-year-old resident, has been indicted in federal court for possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, according to John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

Myers appeared in federal court for his arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick in Tallahassee. A jury trial is scheduled for July 20, 2026, in Tallahassee before United States District Court Judge Mark E. Walker. If convicted, Myers faces up to 15 years’ imprisonment.

The case was jointly investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Assistant United States Attorneys Emma Schwan and Jason R. Coody are prosecuting the case…
