TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Once again, it was a hot and humid day in south Georgia and the Florida Big Bend, interrupted by some strong, sometimes severe storms late this afternoon and early evening with numerous reports of downed trees and powerlines, mostly in Gadsden and Leon Counties,, but also in a few surrounding areas. The storms are quickly dying down this evening, but Friday will another hot and humid day with mid 90s feeling like 100 to 105 in the afternoon, but also another good chance – 70% – for scattered showers and perhaps a few strong storms.
By the weekend, more gulf moisture enters the area, meaning even higher rain chances, but lower temperatures as highs stay in the 80s. That pattern will last into Monday, before it becomes a bit drier and hotter again by the middle of next week…
