Former Florida State quarterback commits to Texas Tech

Former Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos is set to play for the defending Big 12 champions this season.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Castellanos has committed to Texas Tech. He entered his name into the transfer portal after a Kentucky judge gave him a temporary restraining order on Friday, allowing him to secure a fifth year of eligibility.

Castellanos spent the 2025 season at Florida State as the program’s starting quarterback, finishing with 2,760 yards through the air, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also spent two seasons at Boston College and one at UCF…
