Woman faces charges for death of accomplice after violent confrontation over $15

A woman is facing charges in connection to the death of another woman after a late 2023 dispute over $15 in a drug deal turned deadly, Tallahassee police say.

Ashley Pollock, 21, was arrested on a charge of attempted homicide – negligent manslaughter and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She is being held in the Leon County Detention Facility.

On Nov. 28, 2023, Pollock and her accomplice, Delma Pace, went and forcefully entered a home in the 2100 block of Melanie Drive to collect Pollock’s debt, according to a Tallahassee Police Department news release.

When the man opened the door, Pollock flashed her gun causing the man to pull his own gun and shoot the two women, according to police. Both women were injured and taken to a local hospital

Pace died almost a week later “as a result of medical complications following the shooting,” TPD said.

Detectives consulted with the State Attorney’s Office to obtain warrants to charge Pollock. State Attorney Jack Campbell was unavailable for comment when the Tallahassee Democrat reached out to ask if the Stand Your Ground law was applied to the case.
