Wakulla commissioners approve $10M loan for new body armor manufacturing facility

WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A new facility that could bring hundreds of new jobs to Wakulla County is another step closer to reality after action from the board of county commissioners on Monday.

The facility would be built for Point Blank, a manufacturer of body armor for military and law enforcement. County officials have dubbed the project “Project Safety.”

On Monday, the board approved taking out a $10 million loan to go towards the project. County leaders say they also plan to use millions in grant funding and money from the BP oil settlement funds…
